Learn Academies Trust raises vital funds for LOROS through year of fundraising
Learn Academies Trust is proud to celebrate the success of its year-long fundraising efforts for LOROS, its chosen Charity of the Year, with pupils, staff and families across the Trust coming together to raise an impressive amount in support of the local hospice charity.

To mark the achievement, Chief Executive Officer, Jane Jones, recently visited LOROS for a tour of the hospice and formally presented a cheque on behalf of the Trust, recognising the collective efforts of school communities across Leicestershire.
Throughout the year, schools organised a wide range of creative and engaging fundraising activities. Pupils at All Saints' CE Primary School took part in a colourful 'Wacky Hair Day', while children at Red Hill Field Primary School proudly wore the charity's colours during a 'Wear Red and Yellow Day'. At Church Langton CE Primary School, a popular plant sale saw members of the school community purchasing donated plants and flowers to raise funds for the charity.
Families at Houghton on the Hill CE Primary School embraced a 'Coin Collecting and Counting Challenge', encouraging pupils to bring in spare change and work together towards a shared fundraising goal. Meanwhile, children at Ridgeway Primary Academy enjoyed a fun-filled 'Bend the Rules Day', creating excitement across the school while supporting a worthy cause.
One of the highlights of the fundraising calendar was the annual Trust Busking Day held in Market Harborough, which showcased the breadth of musical talents of pupils and staff from Church Langton, South Kilworth, St Andrew's, Ridgeway, Husbands Bosworth, Great Bowden and Market Harborough CE primary schools. The event brought local communities together through music and performance while raising significant funds. The Trust's Central Team also got involved by taking part in a 'Non-Stop Workout Day', while Steve Roddy, Trust Director of Education, took on the challenge of completing the Rutland Half Marathon to raise additional funds for LOROS. Together, these efforts helped make a significant contribution to the Trust's fundraising total and along with the money raised by Steve’s run, we have donated over £4500 this year.
Jane Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Learn Academies Trust, said: "We are incredibly proud of the commitment, enthusiasm and generosity shown by our pupils, staff, families and wider communities throughout the year. Our schools found their own unique ways to support LOROS, and together those efforts have made a real difference. It was a privilege and a pleasure to visit the hospice, learn more about the vital care and support they provide, feel the incredible warmth and energy there and present this donation on behalf of everyone across Learn Academies Trust. Thank you to all who took part and helped make this such a successful year of fundraising."
The Trust would like to thank everyone who supported the fundraising activities throughout the year. The partnership has not only raised valuable funds for LOROS but has also helped pupils develop a deeper understanding of compassion, community spirit and the importance of supporting others.
