New vintage menswear shop opening in Harborough

A new vintage menswear shop will be opening in Market Harborough tomorrow (Friday November 6).

Blackstone will be located at 5 Manor Walk and describes itself as 'an independent shop specialising in vintage and pre-owned menswear'.

The shop is being opened by local husband and wife team, Alex and Fran Austin, who already run Paddock Capital, a Market Harborough based commercial finance brokerage that helps small business access funding.

They said that the store’s opening collection has been "months in the making, with rails made for browsing and every unique piece earning its place".

Alex Austin said: “I believe there’s a real pleasure in going into town, taking your time over a rail and finding something you love. You can feel the material, try it on, see how it sits across your shoulders and walk out wearing it. I think people miss that when so much shopping these days happens on a screen, and this kind of store is something Harborough is missing."

Fran Austin added: “We want Blackstone to be the place where you can find a properly made jacket, try it on and know you’ll still be reaching for it in five years. The joy of buying vintage and pre-owned is that feeling of finding a unique piece you love from a collection that’s long since left the shops, from a brand that will stand the test of time.”
