Football Manager gaming all becomes real for Bees boss Austin!

Mitch Austin admits he is looking forward to playing Football Manager in real life with Harborough Town.

The Bees boss was a big fan of the popular computer game as a youngster, taking over teams at National League North level and guiding them up the ladder.

Well, after Borough's Southern League title win, he will now be managing a Step 2 team for real.

"I was a big fan of football manager all through my youth," Austin told BBC Leicester. "The lowest you could ever start was Conference North or South, and I always started at Conference North or South, and now next season the team that I love will be in it.

"There has been a lot of hard work. I had to do my trench work, I had to learn, and I had to try and be the best I can be, so when I had a position at a good club like we are at, I had the ability to deliver.

"I have come through a lot of early stages of highs, pain and a little bit of success, to find the right club and just be ready when opportunities come knocking.

"I like to take moments, and I get disappointed when I don't, and Saturday was a fantastic feeling. I hope we can now pack out the ground on Saturday and enjoy it."

The Bees will be presented with the league title shield after Saturday’s home game with Bishop’s Stortford (ko 3pm).
