Market Harborough and Lutterworth named as best places to live in Leicestershire by Muddy Stilettos
Harborough’s two market towns made this year’s list of best places to live, according to lifestyle guide Muddy Stilettos.
As part of the annual ‘Best Places to Live’ series, several Leicestershire locations have been named as places worth settling down in.

Described as having the best of both worlds, with its miles of rolling countryside and buzzing city, Leicestershire is home to scores of picturesque villages and towns.
Market Harborough made the cut and was highlighted as being a “major contender for families and young couples who want good travel connections to London”.
The guide mentioned the town’s attractions like Harborough Museum, Foxton Locks and Grade I-listed Kelmarsh Hall.
Food and shopping were also major reasons for the listing, thanks to the town’s mix of high-street favourites as well as independent brands.
The George in Great Oxendon was given a shoutout as a great place to have a Sunday roast dinner.
And the average prices for houses in the town were £349,793 over the past year.
Lutterworth was highlighted as another place to put down roots.
With its central location near the M1, close to both Leicester and Coventry, commuters can make the most of the town.
With sprawling areas of parkland and open spaces, alongside boutique shops and independent restaurants, Lutterworth was praised for being a place with all the amenities needed for those looking to upsize without having to compromise on culture and connections.
Kilworth House Theatre, just five minutes out of town, is considered one of the UK’s finest alfresco theatres.
Average house prices in the area were £313,796 over the past year.
