The shop, in the High Street, has been there since 1991 when it opened as a WH Smith store.

In June 2025, Modella Capital took over the high street chain – rebranding to TG Jones.

The stationers has been a staple of the town for 35 years and is one of 150 stores being closed.

A spokesperson for TG Jones said: "As we work to secure the long-term future of TG Jones, we have confirmed that our Market Harborough store will close. We know this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers, and the local community.

"Our focus now is on supporting those affected and continuing to serve customers throughout the closure period. We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their commitment and the contribution they have made to TG Jones."
