Organised by Northamptonshire-based event company Polka Dot Races, the six-hour challenge invites runners to complete as many 5K laps as they can within the time limit. Participants can take part solo, in pairs, or as part of a team, creating a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where runners of all abilities can push themselves at their own pace.

The event has already received recognition from the 100 Marathon Club UK, meaning distances achieved during the race can count towards the club’s prestigious marathon milestones.

Kerry, organiser of the event and founder of Polka Dot Races, said:

“ The event brings back the spirit of a popular endurance race previously held in the county.

Endurance events create a really special atmosphere because runners spend hours supporting and encouraging each other around the course. It’s not just about competition – it’s about community.

We previously organised an event called Conquer the Castle which runners absolutely loved, so it’s fantastic to be bringing that endurance challenge back in a new way with Marston Madness.

We’re hoping to welcome runners from across the region to come and see just how far they can go in six hours.”

The multi-lap format is particularly popular with endurance runners as it allows participants to set their own strategy – whether they are chasing distance goals, training for an ultra marathon, or simply enjoying the challenge with friends.

The event is also expected to attract businesses and local groups looking for a unique team-building experience, with teams able to share the challenge across the six-hour format.

Polka Dot Races hopes the event will bring together runners from across the region while showcasing the strong sense of community that exists within the running world.

Entries are currently open with an early bird discount available until 18 March.

Looking ahead, Polka Dot Races will also host another endurance challenge later in the year – Loop Til You Drop Backyard Ultra taking place on 10 October at Turvey House.

More information about both events can be found at the Polka Dot Races website.
