Harborough band release new single after track featured on BBC Introducing

A band from Market Harborough have released their latest single after one of their tracks was played on the radio.

PORTICA have unveiled their second single, Hate To Say, after their most recent song, Firefly, was featured on a BBC Introducing show and Jorvik Radio, based in York.

The band recorded Hate To Say at the legendary Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, Wales. The recording studio was welcomed the likes of Oasis, Coldplay, The Stone Roses, Freddie Mercury and now PORTICA.

They travelled to Wales earlier this year to record four tracks, which make up the band’s debut four-track EP, Initial Public Offering, set to be released later in September.

After recording the songs, it was over to renowned Chief Mastering Engineer John Webber at AIR Studios to master the tracks.

While PORTICA's journey has taken them to two iconic studios, the band is firmly rooted in the Midlands – with guitarists and songwriters James and Mark, and drummer Dan coming from Harborough, and bassist Dan and singer Isla both from Leicester.

The new single is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, iTunes, and Deezer.

James Allen said: “It's great to see the early reaction to the songs and it’s been a huge privilege to record and master at Rockfield and AIR Studios.

“We are a local band with local roots and we're doing this independently, so every person who listens to the music, follows us, shares a post or

comes to see us live genuinely makes a difference."
