Celebrate the countryside at Leicestershire County Show in Harborough this weekend

Thousands of visitors are expected to head to Market Harborough this Bank Holiday weekend as the Leicestershire County Show celebrates countryside life.

The two-day event will be held at the Market Harborough Showground on Sunday, August 30, and Monday, August 31, bringing together livestock, vintage machinery, food, crafts and entertainment.

The show dates back to 1883 as a celebration of rural life, agriculture and community.

And this year’s event has a packed programme of attractions throughout the weekend.

People can expect to see displays of vintage tractors, classic cars and steam engines, alongside livestock competitions and demonstrations of traditional countryside skills.

There will be a heavy horse show shining a light on the impressive working animals

The sheep show is back for 2026 to show the role of sheep in British farming.

Nell Hepworth-Smith will also show off her skills with a sheepdog demonstration.

Dog lovers will have plenty to see with various competitions and activities planned, including pedigree classes, a dog scurry, scent work and shows for working terriers, lurchers and whippets.

The show will also have plenty away from the main arena, including craft and food marquees, where visitors can browse handmade goods and sample produce.

On both days, people will get to see a special flypast from the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

The showground will open to visitors at 9.30am on both days, with main ring events starting at around 10am.

Tickets are £10 for those over 16, and are still available. They can be bought from https://leicestershirecountyshow.ticketsrv.co.uk/tickets/10
