Harborough residents warned about scam email for council tax refunds
People living in Harborough are being warned about scam emails claiming residents are owed a refund on their council tax.
The email asks for bank card details to be able to claim the money.

Harborough District Council confirmed that the email is not from them.
The council said: “...we will never ask you to provide your bank card details by email to claim a Council Tax refund.”
People are asked not to click on any links in the emails, not to enter bank details, not to reply to the email and not to share any personal information.
The council added: “If you receive one of these emails, please delete it and report it as a suspected scam at: https://afiu.uk/
“If you have already entered your card details, contact your bank immediately for advice.”
