The Covid-19 infection rate in Harborough has dropped to the joint-lowest in Leicestershire.

The number of people who tested positive in Harborough in the seven days to Thursday March 11 fell by 24 per cent from 75 to 57.

The weekly infection rate in the district was 60 per 100,000 people – the same as neighbouring Oadby and Wigston.

That’s almost level with the national average for England of 59.2 cases per 100,000 people.

Harborough now sits 115th highest in a table of 315 local authority areas nationwide.
