Man set to appear in court today accused of stabbing a man in Harborough district village

A man was set to appear at court today (Monday) accused of stabbing a man in Broughton Astley on New Year’s Day.

James Green, 31, was arrested after a 47-year-old man was stabbed in the village in the early hours of last Wednesday.

Green, of no fixed address, has been charged with wounding/causing grievous bodily harm with intent following the attack.

He’s also been charged with possession of a bladed article following the incident on Main Street.

Green, who was remanded in custody after being arrested, will appear at Leicester magistrates’ court today.

The victim was rushed to hospital with a stab wound injury after being found slumped in the street.

He has since been released from hospital and allowed to return home.
