But they have fallen victim to the Covid-19 pandemic this time around.

So Rainbows is rising to the occasion by bringing a Virtual Christmas Concert to people’s homes from 4pm on Sunday December 20.

Ali Furlong, Head of Community and Events at Rainbows, said: “This year’s Christmas Concert will be a bit different to what we are all used to. “But we guarantee the event will still have you feeling festive - and there will be plenty of performances to enjoy from local schools, choirs and musicians.”

She added: “There is no cost to watch the concert but people will be able to make a donation online as they watch the festivities.

“This year has been such a tough year for our fundraising and donations are so gratefully received to help us continue providing vital care to over 450 children and young people with life-limiting illnesses.

“We hope to see you there enjoying the festivities from the comfort of your own home.”

The Christmas Concert is just one of a number of festive fundraising activities the crucial charity is staging.

Last month Rainbows launched its Christmas Appeal in the hope of desperately-needed funds after a very hard year.
