Market Harborough Historical Society's visit to the Lutterworth Museum

On Wednesday, June 10th, thirty-four members of the Historical Society attended a visit to the Lutterworth Museum. The Museum has been completely modernised and the premises moved to the centre of the town in Market Street. Here the collection is housed in an impressive new building. The host was Tony Hirons, a town councillor and one of the museum’s trustees.

The visitors were informed how the new Museum came into existence, based on endowments from a local charity, The Lutterworth Town Estates, and afterwards visited the Aeronautical Room and the History of Lutterworth Room.

Afterwards many of the group dined at the nearby pub ‘The Shambles’ where the group enjoyed drinks and a meal, and from comments overheard most of the group had a very informative and enjoyable time.
