Gardens in Desborough will be open for the public to visit next month

Three gardens in Desborough will be open for the public to visit next month.

On Sunday June 13, the three beautiful but very varied gardens joining in a group opening in the town for the National Garden scheme (NCS).

The three gardens are:

- The Hostellarie specialises in hosta plants with over 50 different varieties, it also has a courtyard garden, colour themed flower borders and pond and water feature

- 14 Leys Ave has two lawns, mature trees, and herbaceous borders. Brick pillars with climbing plants lead through to a small orchard with a vegetable plot and greenhouse.

- 16 Leys Ave is a gravel garden with acer trees, pond and stream with a clinker built boat with flower boxes. The sweet peas should be in full flower and a delight to see.

There will be a fee of £5 to cover all the gardens which are in close walking distance - and tea and cake will be available in two gardens with gluten free options also available at the Hostellarie.

Entrance fees go to the NGS’s five main nursing charities with monies from plant and sundry sales supporting local charities.
