Organisers now hope to stage next year’s event between July 8 and July 11.

But fans will still be able to enjoy many of the musicians who have taken part over the last few years.

They are staging a string of virtual performances this month to replace the Manchester-based Festival Fresco masterminded by Great Bowden musician Vanessa White.

Full details of how to tune in to these concerts will be published shortly.

Tim Blades, chairman of Great Bowden Music Fest, said: “The committee has taken this decision with heavy hearts, but we have bowed to the inevitable. “However, we are determined to keep the spirit of the Music Fest going in the time between now and next year’s festival.

“Once Government plans become clearer we can start planning for events over the next 12 months.”
