A new drive-in cinema showing the latest movies is set to go ahead in Market Harborough over the next few weeks.

The exciting new entertainments venture is being launched by Fleckney Events.

“In essence we are setting up a drive-in cinema which can show new releases,” said Michael Preston managing director of the Fleckney-based operation.

“At the moment it is just Warner Brothers we have on board but we are hoping to be able to add more studios as the year progresses.

“We are very excited about this – and we are sure that people across Harborough are going to love this fantastic new outlet.”

He’s hoping to raise the curtain on the first all-action programme on Friday May 7.

‘East Midlands Drive-in Cinema’ will be based at the company’s new venue (EMDV) at the 90-acre Showground site near Market Harborough’s Innovation Centre.

“We are inviting people to subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates/announcements before the general public and to have the opportunity to buy tickets first before we inform the public,” said Michael.

You can find the sign-up form here.

“We will have a host of films to start with including the new Godzilla vs Kong, Tom & Jerry, Mortal Kombat (not yet released!), Wonder Woman 1984 to name just a few,” said Michael.

“Future films from Warner Bros include the latest instalment in The Conjuring universe: The Devil Made Me Do It and the Suicide Squad sequel amongst others.

“They are all set to be released later this year and will be available at our drive-in cinema.

“This will be a unique experience as you enjoy the very best of cinema in the safety and comfort of your own vehicles, or you can bring a chair/blanket and sit alongside your vehicle too!

“Films will be shown on a massive LED screen and sound will be broadcast over in-car portable speakers as well as the PA system. “There will also be a big range of food and drink available on site, and VIP spaces will have a waiter service bringing the orders directly to the cars,” said Michael.

“Our long-term vision is to create a fully immersive experience and to bring the iconic American drive-in to the Midlands for all to enjoy for years to come.”
