It is entitled Music of Melody and Harmony and is packed full of tunes to warm the heart at the cold end of the winter.

The main piece in the performance is Dvorak’s brilliant Mass in D Major. It will feature four soloists.

A spokesman for the group said: “This a work of real brilliance and wonderful melodies. The choir really enjoyed singing it nine years ago and believes it well deserves a reprise.”

Also included in the programme are six Moravian tunes written by Dvorak but arranged by Janacek.

There is also a piece called Goin’ Home by Dvorak from his ninth symphony familiar as the tune from the Hovis advert. It has been written in the form of a spiritual and is part arranged by our musical director Anselm Kersten.

Another gem in the concert is How lovely is thy dwelling place from Brahm’s German Requiem. It is sung in English and is a well-loved piece of church music.

The concert is at the Market Harborough Methodist Church in Northampton Road at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 (£10 concessions), under 16s are free.

They are available from Spencers Estate Agent, 49 High Street, Market Harborough or on the door.
