Swifts aim to end winless run as they travel to face Deeping

Hide AdBut Town boss Josh Dixon is adamant the gulf between the clubs won’t be so great when they meet at the Haydon Whitham Stadium on Saturday, the first match in a double header this week.
“It’ll be a difficult game but we know we’ve got to put things right and work hard,” said Dixon, whose side want to end their five-game winless run.
“We always back ourselves to win a game of football. Hopefully, things will click for us.

Hide Ad“Deeping are a good side, but hopefully that’ll motivate us on Saturday.”
The weekend’s scheduled visit of strugglers Sleaford Town was postponed as Storm Dennis caused havoc with the fixtures.
And with a similar fate befalling the previous fixture against Shepshed Dynamo, Dixon hopes the break will only aid his squad.
“The weather’s not been great lately,” he added.

Hide Ad“We have to keep on training, working hard and looking to get it right after the run we’ve been on.
“Hopefully, this break has given us a chance to recharge the batteries. Some of the injured lads have had a bit longer to rest up and hopefully that will help.”
Leicester Nirvana, currently eighth in the standings, will visit Kong Park on Wednesday.

Hide Ad“We’ve got two games this week and a chance to try to put points on the board,” Dixon continued. “We want to end the run we’re on and put together a good one, improving our results is the most important thing first and foremost.”
Saturday’s match kicks off at 3pm, with Wednesday’s fixture at 7.45pm.
