A string of outstanding young footballers at Brooke House College in Market Harborough are set to play for their countries this month.
Monzon Bagayoko (Mali), Isaac Mugweru (Kenya), Kelvin John (Tanzania) and Joshua Onohwurua and Temtayo Ereku, (both Nigeria) have all been chosen for the CECAFA/AFCON U20 tournament.
Kelvin was recently named one of the world’s top 60 budding young stars to look out for in the future.
And top Mali prospect Monzon said: “I’m thrilled – this is the opportunity of a lifetime.”
College principal Mike Oliver said: “I am delighted that further national recognition has come our pupils’ way.
“Kaspar Roomassar was selected for Estonia earlier this term - and our U16s won the ESFA U16 small schools’ cup for 2020.
“We have also seen Aqil Aziz, one of last summer’s leavers, sign professionally for Cannes in the French National league (where Zinedine Zadane and Patrick Vierra both started to play football).
“And Zane Okoro, a current pupil, has signed for Nottingham Forest in the Championship.”
