Warning: Whatsapp 'offer' of free Alton Towers tickets

Holidaymakers and thrillseekers are being warned about a fake Alton Towers ticket offer.

The scam offers free passes to the Staffordshire theme park to celebrate its 110th birthday.

The 'giveaway' from Alton Towers - which actually was developed as a visitor attraction in the 1970s - offers five free passes to 500 families.

Unsuspecting victims are then asked to add their details to a survey, then forward the message to 20 friends to have chance of winning.

However, Alton Towers is warning people that the deal is indeed a scam.
