Woman injured in three-car collision near a Harborough district village

A woman was injured after three cars collided near a Harborough district village this afternoon.

The casualty was taken to hospital after the crash on Newton Lane, near Newton Harcourt, at about 12.50pm.

Police officers and fire crews were called out to attend the incident.

“One woman was taken to Leicester Royal Infirmary with minor injuries. The road was closed while officers and Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service attended,” said Leicestershire Police.

“The cars were recovered and the road reopened around 3.30pm.”
