VIDEO: Leicester players and fans celebrate winning Premier League

The 29-year-old striker invited the team to his luxury £1million eight-bedroom mansion in Melton Mowbray, to watch Chelsea play title rivals Tottenham on a giant TV.

Leicester stars started arriving at Vardy’s plush Cloughmore House, just 15 miles away from the club’s King Power Stadium, just before 7pm.

Christian Fuchs and Robert Huth were among the guests, along with Shinji Okazaki and Gorkan Inler.

Meanwhile Liam Moore and Jeff Schlupp waved to the waiting fans. Midfielder Danny Drinkwater and Andy King arrived together while captain Wes Morgan turned up on his own.

Claudio Ranieri was not present after reportedly flying back to the UK from Italy where he had lunch with his mother.

Dozens of fans gathered outside Vardy’s home to cheer on their heroes, accompanied by drivers who beeped their horns in celebration after the final whistle.

One neighbour said: “No one will mind if they make a lot of noise tonight. The lads have been tremendous.

“It’s a fairy tale ending no one, probably least of all Leicester fans, even expected. It’s going to be a walloping party across Leicester tonight.”

Two burly security guards stood outside Vardy’s sprawling gated mansion.

As the full-time whistle blew, hundreds of Foxes fans cheered in celebration, chanting “We’re all going on a European Tour”.

Lifelong Leicester fans James Upton, 63, and his wife Vikki, 58, moved from Melton, 28 years ago to Perth in Australia.

James, a decorator, said: “I can’t believe it. The whole country is with them.

“We came over from Australia to coincide with a family birthday and we are chuffed to be here to celebrate with all the fans.

“The collective team spirit has been amazing.

“Ranieri’s carried on from what Pearson did and it’s paid off.

“It really hasn’t sunk in yet.

“We are here for another three weeks, so we are going to try see and the parade because we knew we wouldn’t get a ticket for a match.”

Fan Keith Richards, 67, said: “I’ve waited 67 years for this and I couldn’t be happier.”

Phillip Watkins, 42, a teacher, said: “It was such a tense game but Chelsea pulled it out the bag for us.

“I bet Vardy’s enjoying his party because we are definitely going to enjoy ours.”

Fan John Albright, 30, travelled from London to watch Chelsea’s match on TV in the Local Hero pub near the King Power Stadium.

He said: “I’ve been a Leicester fan all my life. I might live in London now but I felt I had to be here for the moment Leicester were champions.

“I’ve watched the Chelsea game in the pub in Leicester and got a taxi with a few mates to see if I can see Vardy and the boys.

“I don’t expect anyone will expect to see them at training tomorrow. It’s wonderful for the city.”

The historic title win saw bookmakers Ladbrokes pay out an astonishing £3million to punters - the largest ever on any team winning the Premier League.

One lucky punter, John Pryke, 59, was set to win a whopping £100,000 after placing a speculative £20 net on a whim after fancying the 5,000-1 odds.

Last month the dad-of-three cashed in his bet and accepted £29,000 from the bookies.

Despite missing out on a £71,000 windfall, the care worker, from Leicester, said: “I don’t care about the money. I care about Leicester City football club.

“No amount of money in the world will ever be the same as the feeling of Leicester being champions.”
