Two people were taken to hospital after two cars collided in Lutterworth as the air ambulance was scrambled.

They were taken to Leicester Royal Informary to be treated after the accident in Rugby Road, Lutterworth, at about 3.45pm on Saturday afternoon (August 22).

Firefighters from Lutterworth and Leicester’s Southern Station raced to the scene along with the regional air ambulance, land ambulances and police.

“We sent two crewed ambulances and the air ambulance was also in attendance.

“We transported two patients to Leicester Royal Infirmary by land ambulance,” said East Midlands Ambulance Service
