The accident happened on Bonehams Lane, a country road between Lutterworth and Gilmorton. The air ambulance was called to the scene, but Kian died from his injuries.

Kian was a pupil at Lutterworth College, but the 15-year-old was also a member of Kibworth and Smeeton Juniors Under 16 football team.

The Under-16s team manager Grant Mason said today; “Kian had played for us for two seasons.

“We all know that the ages 14, 15 and 16 can be some of the surliest times, but Kian was never like that at all. He was always someone with a smile on his face and a joke, always there for training in the sun, or rain and he never complained.

A row of football shirt tributes were placed at the accident site in Bonehams Lane at the weekend by friends of Kian.

Tributes were paid to Kian on social media by his friends, and by the football club he played for.
