Angry drivers have hit out as one of Market Harborough’s busiest roads is being dug up again just weeks after the last time.

Motorists vented their fury on social media after being held up as a key stretch of Kettering Road in Little Bowden is worked on.

The serious disruption comes after the bumper-to-bumper urban route was shut last month when a new road surface was laid.

The hold-ups are being caused as Severn Trent Water seal off old water pipes at the Gores Lane junction.

A spokesman for Coventry-based Severn Trent Water said: “We are carrying out work to basically decommission the old pipes.

“We are hoping that this will be completed by Wednesday.”

He said their crews are then moving on to deal with worn-out ageing pipes in Burnmill Road.

“Our teams will be in Burnmill Road from Thursday until Sunday,” he said.
