A seriously-injured woman cyclist was rushed to hospital by air ambulance after she was hit by a van in a village near Fleckney.

She was injured after she and a second cyclist collided with the vehicle on Main Street in Kilby just after 4.30pm yesterday afternoon (Thursday).

The woman, who hasn’t been named, was flown to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for urgent treatment.

The other rider involved suffered minor injuries while the van driver was not hurt.

Main Street in Kilby was closed until about 9.30pm last night as police launched an investigation into the accident.
