Severn Trent Water has apologised to people swept up in the highly-localised incident.

A Severn Trent spokeswoman said: “We’re just doing some balancing on the system.

“So we expected a bit of low pressure for an hour or so and then things should be back to normal.”

She added at about midday today: “Apologies to everyone affected but it shouldn’t be too much longer.”
