There was a Santastic turnout for the Lutterworth Santa Run - despite the cold winds and overcast weather on Sunday.

Organisers said 775 Santas took part, raising money for a Barnardo’s Young Carers, Canine Partnership – Share and Care Group, the Air Ambulance, the Mayor of Lutterworth’s Appeal and a range of Rotary Charities.

The Lutterworth Santa Fun Run is organised by the two Rotary Clubs of Lutterworth, The Lutterworth Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Lutterworth Wycliffe.

Over the six years the event has been running, £79,000 has been raised for local and international charities.

One of the event’s organisers, Peter Osborn, said: “We were lucky with the weather – it was at least dry for “the run” even if the wind was higher than we would have liked.

“But in the seven years Lutterworth Rotary have been running the event we have never had to cancel.”
