Road closed after a lorry and a van collided near Desborough

Police, firefighters and ambulance crews were called to the scene

Two drivers were taken to hospital this morning (Tuesday) after a lorry and a van collided near Desborough.

Police, firefighters and ambulance crews responded after a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a blue tipper truck collided at about 9am.

The crash happened outside the Travel Plaza Hotel on Harborough Road, said Northamptonshire Police.

The drivers of both vehicles, two men, were both taken to Kettering General Hospital as a “precautionary measure” but are not thought to be badly injured.

The road has been closed as the damaged van and wagon are cleared away and specialist police officers launch an accident investigation at the scene.
