There is still time for you to have your say on services for adults and communities in Leicestershire

Would you like to have your say on the county council’s vital adults and communities strategy covering the years to come?

The good news is you’ve still got time to give the local authority your thoughts and opinions on a policy affecting so many people across Harborough.

The strategy document highlights the plans and ambitions of adult and communities’ services at the county council.

The consultation runs until midnight on Sunday March 22.

A series of videos are now available giving you a much better insight into the council’s plans.

Cllr Richard Blunt, county council cabinet member for adult social care, said: “The ambition at the heart of our strategy is to improve wellbeing and opportunity for the people and communities of Leicestershire.

“This includes helping them to lead happier, more prosperous, connected and fulfilled lives.”

He added: “We want to support people to be as independent as they can be and to use other services such as libraries and community activities.

“This will improve their wellbeing and probably keep them independent for longer.

“The videos provide people with an additional way to find out about our plans and to enable us to get views to help shape the final strategy.”

The scheme outlined in the video showcases how the council plans to unite adult social care, community and wellbeing, and adult learning services.

The authority’s acting to provide and commission high-quality services which enrich the lives of individuals, families and communities.

The videos support an online and easy read survey, which have been available since the consultation was launched on 16 December.

The consultation runs until midnight on Sunday March 22.
