The Government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has published a league table of the performance of all local authorities in distributing grants.

Harborough District Council was listed a very creditable eighth best nationally out of 314 councils.

Cllr Phil King, the council’s leader, said: “We have a team of people working very hard to contact all the businesses in the district.

“Whilst it is pleasing that our efforts have been recognised nationally the important thing is that we continue to give local businesses as much support as we can at this very challenging time, and over the months ahead.”
