The travellers turned up out of the blue on Sunday (October 11).

They have now been given two days to move on – or they will be forced to go by the police.

A spokesperson for the Multi-Agency Traveller Unit, which represents both Harborough District Council and Leicestershire County Council, said: “We are aware of travellers on the Commons car park site.

“We have given them notice to vacate the site by 12pm on Wednesday 14th October, which will be enforced by the police if necessary.”
