Police forced to deal with a runaway gang on a main road in Harborough late at night - a herd of cows

Officers were quickly forced to become cowboys as they brought the cattle under control

A herd of cows tramped along a well-used road into Market Harborough last night (Sunday) after escaping from their field.

Police were alerted after about 15 cows were spotted calmly marching down the middle of the A4304 from Lubenham to Market Harborough.

Officers were quickly forced to become cowboys as they brought the runaway cattle under control on Lubenham Hill just after 9pm.

A herd of cows tramped along a well-used road into Market Harborough last night (Sunday) after escaping from their field.

They managed to get the cows to a safe place off the main road as they tried to track down the farmer.
