A person was rushed to hospital after being cut free from their car after a crash on the northern edge of Harborough district yesterday evening (Sunday).

The casualty was rescued from their battered Volkswagen Polo after firefighters cut the car’s roof off following the accident in Thurnby.

Police, ambulances and firefighters dashed to the scene after two cars collided on Station Road, Thurnby, at 4.43pm.

The casualty’s injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing after the smash near Fern Close, Leicestershire Police said.
