Three arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs after man died at block of flats in Market Harborough

Three people were arrested on suspicion of supplying hard drugs after a man in his 30s died at a block of flats in Market Harborough on Sunday

The suspects have been quizzed by detectives over the supply of class A drugs after the mystery tragedy at Edwin Court on Kettering Road in the early hours of Sunday.

The man, who hasn’t been named, died at the scene after falling seriously ill, police said.

Police and medical experts are now trying to establish exactly how he died.

Police were called to the high-rise flats next to the Lidl store and opposite the Aldi shop by East Midlands Ambulance Service at 1.40am.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries following the death of a man at an address in Kettering Road, Market Harborough.

“Police were called by the East Midlands Ambulance Service at 1.40am yesterday (14 June) after a man, who was in his 30s, had taken ill inside the address,” said a Leicestershire Police spokeswoman.

“The man subsequently died at the scene. The death of the man is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

Two men, aged 54 and 38, and a 38-year-old woman, all from Market Harborough, “were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs”.

The three suspects have since been “released under investigation”, said the police spokeswoman.

“Enquiries remain ongoing.”
