However, they have been told that they can't perform until they update and replace elements of their stage lighting - and this comes a quite a high cost

"This will cost us approximately £4,000 and as we haven't been able to perform for over 12 months now, we need to rely on alternative income," said member Kelly Scholey.

"We have set up a crowdfunding campaign to try and raise as much of this money as possible, so that hopefully we will be able to be back on stage again by the end of the year."

Through the crowdfunding website, chair Bet Haggerty said: "We love sharing our passion for performing with our local community and unsurprisingly, this past year has been very difficult for us.

"The pandemic has meant that we haven't been able to hold a performance since our last pantomime in November 2019.

"Performances are our main source of income and although we haven't been performing, there are still bills that need to be paid.

"However, we cannot perform until we update and replace elements of our stage lighting. This comes at quite a high cost.

"Any amount that you could donate would be greatly received. Please help us to get back onto stage and continue to bring laughter and joy to the community for years to come."
