Proposals to build a new leisure centre in Market Harborough will be looked at again by Harborough council in 2021-22.

The district council has been weighing up whether to replace the ageing sports complex on Northampton Road or totally refurbish it instead for several years.

The much-debated blueprint has been shelved for the last year amid the devastating Covid pandemic.

But the scheme is now set to be brought back to the table in the local authority’s new financial year – starting next month.

Lutterworth Sports Centre on Coventry Road is also going to be revamped and brought up to scratch by the council.
