Bowden Stores, based on The Green in Great Bowden, was forced to shut for several days when an employee tested positive for coronavirus.

The member of staff struck down has now fully recovered and all of their colleagues have tested negative for Covid-19.

Bowden Stores has been given two professional deep cleans during the closure, the shop said.

Meanwhile, Ascough’s Bistro on St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough, had to close their doors after a member of their team tested positive for Covid-19 at the weekend.

“We have been in touch with Public Health who have advised us that we aren't required to close or take any action.

“But for our own peace of mind all our staff have gone for tests and the premises has been fogged and deep cleaned,” said the restaurant’s management on their Facebook page on Tuesday (October 20).

“We are just waiting on the remaining tests to come back (all have come back negative so far) so that we know the rest of our staff are safe and well before opening again.

“Public Health have also advised that no customers need to be contacted through track and trace.

“We would like to thank the customers who were due to dine with us today for their understanding and support, it is greatly appreciated. “Your safety and that of our employees will always be our priority and we look forward to seeing you again shortly.

“If you have bookings with us tomorrow you will be notified if we are unable to open.

“Thank you once again for your support.”
