The Red Arrows flew over Market Harborough on VE75 Day on Friday morning after flying over Buckingham Palace.

Thousands of people looked up to the skies in awe across the town and surrounding villages as the brilliant RAF aerobatics team’s nine Hawk jets scorched home with a deafening roar.

The world-famous Red Arrows were speeding back to their base at RAF Scampton, Lincolnshire, after making their landmark trip to London to help celebrate the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War in Europe.

“I’ve seen them perform many times at air shows over the years and they are such a fantastic sight.

“What an amazing way to help mark VE75 Day with the Red Arrows flying back home over our own homes in Market Harborough.”
