25. Market Harborough Sea Cadets
Volunteers from Market Harborough Sea Cadets led over 25 cadets down the Grand Union Canal on Bank Holiday Monday, as part of the nationwide ‘The Big Help Out’ to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III. The flotilla of stand up paddle boards (SUP), kayaks and even a ‘mega SUP’ travelled the six miles from Harborough’s Union Wharf basin to Foxton, accompanied by parents who walked the distance along the canal towpath. Undeterred by frequent rain showers and grey skies, the cadets celebrated their arrival at Foxton Locks with homemade coronation themed cakes, ahead of the start of their outdoor activity programme that runs from May until October.
