Villagers in North and South Kilworth have come together to create fun learning initiatives for the children

Did you see a dinosaur roaming the streets of North and South Kilworth over the weekend?

Don't worry, it wasn't your mind playing tricks on you during these lockdown days.

Local dad Guy Smith has been walking the streets of the two villages dressed up as T-Rex Tim to entertain the families and as part of a home schooling initiative set up across the villages.

He was out and about yesterday (Sunday) and might be out again today (Monday).

Nursery nurse Karen Moss is one of the people who has helped set up a Whats App group for the villagers.

The group is designed to bring the community together and help develop home schooling ideas.

She said: "We put up posters and delivered leaflets to the houses with children.

"We’ve suggested that there’s a dinosaur T Rex Tim who’s escaped and need the children’s help by suggesting they create their own dinosaur pictures etc to attract him!

"One house has painted dinosaur footprints along their house, another has dinosaur prints on it’s driveway and various dinosaurs in gardens."

Karen said the community spirit in North and South Kilworth has been brilliant in these tough times.
