Market Harborough Sea Cadets have now returned to face to face training following the Covid lockdowns.

And they are keen to recruit and offer places for enthusiastic youngsters in the town.

Junior Sea Cadets aged 10 and 11 meet on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm all year round.

“We are active both on and off the water, engage on occasional weekends and offer week camps too.

“Our young members can take part in all kinds of training and competitions from sailing and rowing to football and ceremonial drill,” said the sea cadets.

“And they get to learn many adventurous and nautical activities.

“Not only will is it great fun.

“But the new skills will definitely give them a headstart in life and boost their confidence.”

Sea cadets are taught a range of topics from cookery and water safety to computers, first aid, navigation and boating.
