A major cancer charity is appealing to people throughout Harborough to back it online.

The urgent plea’s being made by Eunice Loney, chairman of the Market Harborough Group of Macmillan Cancer Support, as they face losing thousands of pounds during the coronavirus pandemic.

“For regular visitors to Market Harborough they will be used to seeing volunteers in their green tabards collecting in June each year for Macmillan Cancer Support,” said Eunice.

“They are supported by Morris Dancers from Braybrooke and Leicester.

“This would be an event that would raise in excess of £1,000 during the day.

“Like all charities Macmillan has had to cancel events this year that would normally raise many thousands of pounds enabling them to support services so badly needed for patients and their families living with cancer.

“The Market Harborough Group would like to invite people to join our ‘online collection month’.”

“No matter how small every donation will make a difference and it will be much appreciated,” said Eunice.
