The authority wants to encourage more parishes to think about how they use their village hall more while creating new physical activity opportunities for residents.

“We've offered a diverse range of activities, including falls prevention, new age kurling and boccia sessions.

“They are great for people of any age and ability - and can easily be adapted for village halls across the district,” said a district council spokesman.

“These sessions have proved extremely popular and have shown greater need for more sessions around the district.

“They have also generated the added social benefit bringing people closer together.

“One resident said: ‘We would love to have this as a more regular feature to our offering as a parish as it allows us to get to make new friends within our village’."
