The builder’s contribution helped the club hire Harborough Leisure Centre for the packed-out two-day spectacular.

An incredible 42 teams, made up of a record 186 swimmers, took part as they raised over £5,000 for a string of local charities.

Carole Baldam, the Rotary Club’s chair of the Swimarathon Committee, said: “We are extremely grateful for the support we have received from Taylor Wimpey - we can’t thank them enough for their generous donation.

“Our event gets bigger and better each year.

“That means we are able to create more opportunities for people to enter and get involved with on the day.”
