As part of its Community Engagement programme, Home Instead is to stage free online Zoom sessions to create Dementia Friendly Communities within Harborough, South Leicestershire, Corby and Rutland.

They will include:

Dementia Friends Information Sessions

A Dementia Friend is somebody that learns about dementia so they can help their community.

Dementia Friends help by raising awareness and understanding, so that people living with dementia can continue to live in the way they want.

Think CO Campaign

This sets out to save lives by making people more aware of the signs and symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning with people who work in the homes of vulnerable people as well as the general community.

Scam Awareness & Internet Safety Sessions

Scams are massively under-reported as is fraud in general.

Many local and national authorities, organisations and charities such as Action Fraud, Trading Standards, The National Crime Agency and Friends Against Scams tackle and combat scams.

“We work with these agencies and police to ensure we provide the most current information to help to tackle both local and national scams with the aim of protecting those most at risk,” said Home Instead.

“We are happy to hold bespoke sessions for groups, societies, clubs or residential groups to suit your own timetable on any day at any time.”

Details of sessions being held over the next two months are outlined below.
