A Harborough dad is launching a bold bid to help feed hungry people this winter.

Jonny Hales, 50, of Great Glen, is uniting with his wife Anuszka and great pals Jim and Erika as they throw themselves behind the Trussell Trust.

The national charity is fighting to secure a “free future” for the entire country, both adults and children.

Jonny, the chairman of Glen Villa Juniors football club, said: “This is a fantastic cause.

“Nobody should be going hungry in the UK – or anywhere else – in 2020.

“So we are setting out to raise as much money for the Trussell Trust as we can.”

The public-spirited dad-of three added: “We want to feed those most in need this Christmas – and beyond.”

Jonny said they all created and designed a T-shirt during the first Covid-19 lockdown earlier this year.

“We did it to remind us of the year 2020 – and its message was Stay Safe.

“We sold the T-shirts from our website and donated all our profit, over £1,000, to our local Leicester NHS Charity,” he said.

“Now we have decided to sell the T-shirts to support the Trussell Trust.

“You can buy them for £13 from our website at: https://www.staysafe2020.co.uk“We will donate £10 from the sale of every T-shirt to the Trussell Trust.

“The additional £3 will cover the cost of postage and packaging.

“So please click on, have a look and buy a T-shirt from us today to help put food on the tables of hungry people all over the UK this Christmas.”
