A dog stolen in the Harborough district in February has been found and reunited with her family..

Purdey, a young black female Labrador, was snatched from a farm near Billesdon in the north of the district – leaving her shell-shocked owners distraught.

The beloved pet, possibly stolen for breeding, was stolen either late at night on Thursday February 18 or in the early hours of Friday February 19.

Her microchip was scanned this morning (Sunday) and she is now back with her family.

"We are all a complete mess but so so happy," said her family.

"Thank you to everyone who shared, put up posters and worked tirelessly in the background."
