Driver escapes dramatic crash near Harborough village with minor injury

A woman driver had a lucky escape after her car dramatically overturned on a quiet country road near a Harborough village last night (Thursday).

The woman escaped the crash on Pincet Lane, North Kilworth, with an injury to her leg but didn’t need to go to hospital, police said.

The single-vehicle accident involving the Volkswagen Beetle happened in pitch-black darkness just after 7pm last night on the B5414.

Firefighters from nearby Lutterworth and Market Harborough raced to the scene along with police and at least one ambulance.

The back road was closed for about 75 minutes as the battered car was recovered before being re-opened at about 8.15pm.
