Organiser Mimi Tran, 41, chair of Great Bowden Events, said: “It was such a thrill to finally stage the pancake race after we were hit by so many storms in February.

“Seven teams with four people each took part in a relay on the village green.

“Every competitor ran a 30-metre course with their pancake.”

“We staged a special race-off – and they both touched the finishing tree at the same time!

“So we crowned them joint winners.

“We had a lot of fun bringing villagers together and it was buzzing.

“I’m just pleased we put the event on before everything starts to shut down and get called off.”
